Molecor takes part in a trade mission in South Africa led by the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa

On Thursday 27 October, Ignacio Muñoz, CEO of Molecor, travelled to South Africa to take part in a trade mission led by the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, and the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Spain wishes to significantly increase its commercial exchanges, investment and industrial cooperation with South Africa. For this reason, Molecor got involved in the encounter where the 1st Business Forum took place.

This event's main goal was to find out first-hand about the attractive business opportunities South Africa presents. This is a country Molecor has worked with for many years, since it is home to one of the company's head offices.

The Molecor plant there is located in Richards Bay and was a joint venture set up in 2016 with Sizabantu Piping Systems Pty Ltd, a Molecor partner and leading distributor in the South African market.

A year after it was set up, its production capacity was doubled with the start-up of a second PVC-O TOM® pipe manufacturing line under a Molecor technology licence for countries in southern Africa.

This expansion has enabled the company to work on large water projects with large-diameter and high-pressure water pipes made using Molecor's innovative technology.

This technology allows the company to manufacture PVC-O TOM® pipes fully automatically with pipe-by-pipe quality control, ensuring the product's reliability throughout its service life.

Since then, thousands of kilometres of PVC-O pipes have been supplied across Africa, with pipes certified according to the specifications of South African standard SANS 16422.
